ACTE promotes recycling at the Anaconda Landfill

Published by admin on Fri, 04/04/2025 - 13:49

During the months of April and May the Anaconda Coalition for Tolerance Education (ACTE) is asking our community to come together to get the word out about local recycling. Many people still don’t know that our Anaconda landfill accepts aluminum cans, cardboard (boxes broken down), and metals. These are picked up by Pacific Steel for recycling on a periodic basis, and the proceeds from the recycling, minus the fees for pick-up, are given to local non-profit groups through the ADLC recycling partnership. Everybody wins, including the earth. Tell a friend or a local business.

Our landfill is located about 1 mile east of The Forge, a left hand turn across traffic to Landfill Road. You can also get there on a parallel road from the east side Town Pump. The address is 223 Landfill Road. The phone number is 406-560-3207. The landfill is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Non-profits can apply in December of the year for two months of recycling proceeds by filling out an application found at the ADLC Landfill site. For more information, contact Gayla Hess at the Planning Department, 406-563-4012, or ghess@adlc.us. ACTE has the months of April and May, but your recycling efforts are appreciated by non-profits throughout the year.
