Agnes Rose Funston
Agnes passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2024. Born in Anaconda on December 1, 1941 to Pat Sweeney and Lucille Weimer-Sweeney.
Agnes attended St Paul’s grade school and Anaconda High School.
Agnes married Jerry Funston August 3rd, 1959 in Tacoma, Washington. They moved back to Anaconda in December of 1961. Agnes and Jerry had five beautiful children.
She was a stay at home mom until the twins were in middle school. She then went to work at the Senior Citizens Center as a cook. When she retired she traveled with Jerry on construction for a while. They enjoyed frequently traveling to Alaska to fish and spend time with their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Agnes loved spending time with her family. She loved helping people and was always doing something for someone. She was famous for her amazing cooking, baking, and warm hugs.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Pat Sweeney and Lucille Burke. Son Mike Funston, grandson Jeremy Funston, and brother Bill Burke. Agnes is survived by her husband Jerry Funston. Sons Gary (Kathy) Funston and Steve (Desiree) Funston. Daughters Lisa (Jeffry) Hayes and Michelle (Rod) Funston-Carmen. Grandchildren Shannon (Diamond) Bevegni, Katie (Mark) Messer, Kasey Funston, Christopher (Krysta) Funston, Shawntay Funston, Sean (Ann) Funston-Brown, Lisa Lanae Funston. Ten great-grandchildren and too many family and friends to count.
Services will be held at Holy Family Church on April 12th, 2024. Public visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. with reception to follow interment service. For more information please visit longfellowfinneganriddle.com.
