Anaconda Archive: 1932 champs

Another of history’s mysteries has been solved via the Anaconda Archive. After printing this photo in the Friday, March 18, 2022 Anaconda Leader, we learned from Terry Vaughn that it almost certainly is the 1932 St. Peter’s elementary school champions as he has similar photos of the same team from 1930 and 1931 – and one of the boys in the photo is his father, James Vaughn. Only the following names have been confirmed at this time: front row far left – Sladich (no first name); back row – Coach John Krizan, James Vaughn (holding the trophy) and Bob Brunell (far right). Anyone with more names may contact leadernews@anacondaleader.com. And check out next Friday’s Leader for an Anaconda Archive story on how these same boys would make gridiron history in 1936.
