Anaconda Archive: A fond farewell

Published by admin on Wed, 04/20/2022 - 13:17

Offered as a follow-up to J. Ray Haffey's March 30, 2022 Anaconda Archive article on the life and times of E.P. Mathewson, general manager at the smelter from 1902-1916 and an instrumental figure in the development of Anaconda, here is the very scene noted in the article of Mathewson giving his farewell speech standing on the steps of the general office – with the gold cup and the C.M. Russell painting given to him as parting gifts beside him.
