Catherine Marie Estill Martinez

Catherine Marie Estill Martinez
On May 11, 2025, the Martinez family had the best Mother’s Day ever. Cathy’s family surrounded her with a joyous celebration. On May 19th, Cathy passed on to heaven to join her dad and mom, Carrie and Dave Estill; her sisters, Carol Veith and Mary Ann; and her brothers, Jim and Ed.
Cathy was born on May 26, 1958, in Deer Lodge, MT. Her family lived in Galen, MT, until 1965, when they moved to Anaconda. Cathy attended school in Anaconda and graduated from AHS along with her dearest friends: Frannie Ginsburg and Vickie Blaskovich. In 1976, Cathy went to the Missoula Vo-Tech where she met her future husband, Randy Martinez. They were married on August 20, 1977 in Anaconda.
In 1980, Cathy became a “Navy Wife”. She lived and worked in various cities over her lifetime. In 1991, her husband began work as a Deputy US Marshal where they made their home in Helena and finally in Lolo. Cathy worked many years in the medical support services and as a 911 dispatcher for Missoula City/County. She always had a warm welcome for her family and friends. She never turned down a hungry mouth or failed to give a much-needed hug to any of the neighborhood kids that needed a hug.
In 2016, they moved to North Carolina to be near their sons and grandchildren. Cathy had health problems but she always had an arts and crafts project for her grandkids. Her memories of Anaconda have to do with her love of reading books at the Anaconda Library and the family get togethers.
She is survived by her husband, Randy; sons, David (Michelle) and Ricky (Tiffany) and grandchildren Lillie, Cain, Isla, Jaden, Olivia, Grayson, and Landon; her brothers Pat, Tom, and Bob; and sister, Carrie Keenan. There are no service planned at this time. Donations in Cathy’s memory can be made to the donor's choice.
