If chocolate, wine, and cheese are on the menu during this season of love, then the Friends of Hearst Free Library have just what you ordered. Whether you’re single, a couple, or looking for a lovely time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends, be sure to mark your calendar for Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m.

The long-running fundraising tradition started decades ago as a viable way to raise money to upgrade the Hearst Free Library’s elevator, but since then it has turned into one of the most anticipated local events happening in the Smelter City.

There will be an array of chocolate treats including cakes, cookies, truffles, fudge, and more cocoa confections sure to please the pickiest of palettes. And what pairs perfectly with chocolate? How about a premium assortment of hand selected wines picked out exclusively by The Bighorn wine shop owner Vanessa Romero. Would you like a little cheese with your wine? Lucky for you, Friends of the Library President Mary Johnston has an excellent and diverse selection of cheeses picked out to tie the menu together.

Additionally, the Friends of the Library will be offering pre-sales of the selected wines at their discounted prices.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing, raffles, and door prizes available to add some fun to the afternoon of love.

Wait, there’s one thing missing – live music – but don’t worry, they’ve got that covered, too. A musician will be filling the air with melodies sure to melt your heart.

With all the boxes checked for the perfect afternoon of Valentine’s Day fun, it’s no surprise that this event has grown to be one of the most successful long-running fundraising celebrations of the year, Cupid approved.

Tickets are available to purchase for $15 until Feb. 10 at the Hearst Free Library, or $20 at the door.
