Deanna “Dee” Mae Cron

Published by admin on Wed, 06/21/2023 - 10:24

Deanna “Dee” Mae Cron passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Dee was born on April 23, 1941, to Nola and Ed Torney. She was raised in Opportunity and lived her whole life in Anaconda where she marred Tom R. Cron and they were blessed with 3 children: Cheryl, Debbie, and Ron. They were divorced after 16 years of marriage but remained a part of each other’s lives till the end.

She was a devoted mom taking care of her family while always having another job. She worked many different jobs, waitressing at numerous restaurants, drove school bus for years, and, lastly, retired from bartending at the JFK where her personality shined. She was a “social butterfly” and a “people pleaser” with many “life-long friendships.”

Dee is preceded in death by her loving mother and father, Nola and Ed; brothers, Jack and Ed Torney; and sister, Darlene Carlson.

Dee is survived by her ex-husband, Tom Cron, and their three children and spouses, Cheryl (Keith) Barkell, Debbie (Russell) Coward, and Ron (Julie) Cron.

Dee has seven grandchildren Jamie and Jessie Barkell, Brandon and Casey Coward, Erin and Emily Cron, and Nathan Lanes.

Dee has 12 great grandchildren, Katie, Sarah and Charlie; Emory and Liam; Blake and Alex; Kimber and Ivy; Lillian, Daisy, and Ariana.

Dee also has several loving nieces, nephews, and their families.

Dee was good at everything she did; softball, bowling, was the best cook ever, and could “cut a rug” like no one.

She loved family outings camping, fishing, and QVC of course! Most of all she LOVED her family and friends.

“Until we meet again Momma.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Dee are suggested to her favorite charity, St. Judes Children’s Hospital by vising stjude.org, or to a foundation of the donor’s choice.

A celebration of Dee’s life will be held on Saturday June 24, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Longfellow Finnigan Riddle Funeral Home and Cremation Services in the chapel, 107 Oak St., Anaconda, MT. A reception will be held immediately following at the funeral home. Dee will be laid to rest during a private service for family at Sunset Memorial Park, Crackerville Road, in Silver Bow County.
