Delinda Joy LaTray

Delinda Joy LaTray
Delinda Joy LaTray passed away peacefully February 23, 2025, surrounded by family and her care team.
Born to Donald and Maxine (Doney) LaTray on September 29, 1963. She was born with an extra copy of the 21st chromosome, better known as Down Syndrome. She was a “diamond in the rough,” shining bright.
She greeted people and loved them all without judgement. She had big, tight hugs, a beautiful, bright smile, and sparkles in her eyes. She was the center of attention everywhere she went.
Delinda loved music, especially old-time country; Loretta Lynn in particular, carrying a guitar, portable phonograph, and a stack of albums wherever she went, always ready to display her talents.
Throughout the years, she held various jobs through the AWARE program, where she made many friends. AWARE and Family Outreach kept Delinda active and engaged as long as her health allowed.
Delinda is survived by her little dog “Baby Girl”; sisters, Donna Dickson, and Doris LaTray; nephews, Don Dickson, and Lynn Dickson Jr.; nieces, Kendy, Darian, and Kori Dickson; numerous cousins and friends; and Aunt Edna.
Delinda was preceded by her parents Donald and Maxine; sisters, Barbara, and Diana; nephews, Lynn Sr., and Donnie Sr. Dickson; and other family members. Delinda was a proud member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Our Family would like to extend our heart felt gratitude to two very important organizations: TREK Healthcare (formerly Senior Solutions Hospice), Paula, Robin, Tricia, and Charity, who guided and supported us through this very difficult and emotional journey; and the Porphyry House of the AWARE program, Sarah and her team took exceptional care of Delinda with their genuine love and compassion. Thank you. Also, gratitude to Joyce, Paula, and Barb, for providing safety, security, love, care, dignity, hugs and kisses 24-7.
Love you Princess, fly high!
