Donald “Don” Raymond Tweedy

Donald Raymond Tweedy passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 18, 2025; at the time of his death, he was 60 years old.
Don was born in Tucson Arizona on June 9th, 1964, to Robert and Rachael Tweedy. His young life was spent wherever the Air Force station his father was assigned, Guam, last stop was Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls Montana where Don attended CMR Russell High School graduating in 1982. Don further his education attending Northern University in Havre Montana earning an associate’s degree in electronics in 1984.
Don joined the Air Force National Guard of Montana in October of 1986 serving until November 18, 1987. He moved to Bozeman and working in the computer repair business returning to Great Falls to Work for Montgomery Wards as a repair man working up to Service Dept. Manager in 1991. Working there until the service Dept. was closed in December 1993.
He met Maureen “MO” Sparrow in Great Falls and they married in May of 1993. The union was blessed with a son Donald Seamus Tweedy. The Family relocated to Anaconda Montana in 1996, where Don stayed at home with Seamus for the first year, this was his favorite job. He worked for a few computers repair businesses until purchasing the Subway in Anaconda in 1998 and five years later opened the Subway in Rocker.
He was a Star Trek fan, enjoyed gaming on the computer or with miniatures acting out historical wars or fantasy. Was a founding member of the Sandbaggers Club in Great Falls. He opened a Game Room in Anaconda, so preteens had a place to hang out on Friday gaming and playing Magic the Gathering. He loved watching sports, barbequing, chilling with family and friends and in recent years gardening.
He was a vibrant man, had a contagious laugh and instigator of shenanigans. He was a gentle giant. Don was the loudest supporter at his son’s football games and wrestling events. Don was very proud of the Man his son has become looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife Maureen “MO” Tweedy, son Donald Seamus and Angela Tweedy, Stepson Benjamin Sparrow and Crystal Faulkner and grandson Jaxson Sparrow. His stepmother
Carol Tweedy brother Robert Tweedy sister Merry Smith and Joeseph Smith a stepbrother Sammuel Bennett, Clarice and Bill Fischer, Patrick and Linda Durkin, Tim and Lisette Durkin. And many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Robert Earl Tweedy and Rachael Munson Bennett, in laws Edward F Durkin and Rosemary Durkin, brother-in-law Mark Durkin.
The family wished to thank the crews of the Subway in Anaconda and Rocker for all their support during this most difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
