Donna Shagina
It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Shagina announces her sudden passing on June 23, 2023.
She is survived by her sister Liz Ternes, brother Mike Shagina, nieces Melinda (Neil) Klatt and Jennifer Ambler, nephew Joe (Keturah) Shagina, grandnephews Ethan and Mason Klatt and grandnieces Vivian and Riley Shagina.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Mae and Michael Shagina, brother Tom Shagina and sister Mary Kay Ambler.
Donna was born in Anaconda on July 20, 1943. She attended local schools and graduated from Anaconda Central High School. She moved to Edmonton Alberta when she was 19 years old and lived there for the remainder of her life. Donna was a devout Catholic and made many close and wonderful friends through work and the Catholic community.
Donna will be remembered for her spirituality, positivity, humor, strength and independence. She was a cancer survivor for over 20 years until she finally succumbed to pancreatic cancer a month before her 80th birthday.
There are many good memories and much appreciation for the joy, kindness, family bonding time, fun experiences, learning and positivity in life because of her efforts. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be July 21st at 10am at St. Joseph’s Basilica in Edmonton, Alberta.
