Doris Elaine Sando

March 9, 1934 – Jan. 24, 2025

Doris was born and raised in Billings, Montana and after graduation from high school became an accomplished graphic artist working for two different “mad men” advertising agencies until her retirement in 1985.

Doris was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed digging around in her fancy iris beds well into her mid-80’s before it became too physically demanding. Doris was also a very talented seamstress and made her many nieces and nephews outfits of such quality that we’re pretty sure most are still being passed down to the next 5 generations!

Doris never married and lived with her mother until she passed in 2020, at which time she ended up in Anaconda where she was taken care of by her nieces and nephews 3 generations deep.  They include Dustin (Tina) McKenney; Tera (William) Crooks and children Logan and Scarlet Smith; Kayla McKenney and her children Jace and Daxton Wyant.  William’s mother, Arlene Crooks also assisted where needed and loved on Doris as often as she could.

We loved her deeply and it was an honor and a privilege to have her with us.

We wish to thank her weekday caregiver, Diane McCarthy who  impacted Doris’s life for the last 3 years in such a compassionate way.  She became a great friend to Aunt Doris.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents J. Clyde and Edith sando. Sister Dorothy (Donald) McKenney; Niece Connie McKenney; Sister Jerry (Thomas) Pacheco.

She is also survived by many more loving and caring nieces and nephews not listed above, Sherry (Chuck) Curtis; Darin (Karmin) McKenney; Timothy (Chris) Pacheco. Great-nieces and nephews Kimberly (Derrick) Pollari; Miriah Forbes Lantz; Rebecca (Bill) Hultquist; Shane Lantz; Brendon McKenney; and Jenna McKenney and their large extended families as well.
