The Grinch of HD 76
Dear Editor:
It’s winter but the temperature seems hot; not so much outside, but in Rep. John Fitzpatrick’s head. I have read a few of his letters to the editor of this newspaper and he seems angry – angry at his constituents, nonprofit organizations and voters. All year round but especially at Christmas we should have healthy debates about issues such as tax rates or ham vs prime rib, not derogatory labeling. I have worked with John in the legislature and although it is true that a John Fitzpatrick smile is as rare as a fiscally responsible Democrat, he has had a deadpan sense of humor from time to time. I am sure voters would like Rep. Fitzpatrick to bring it back to issues his district cares about with productive content, explaining his votes, good or bad. The Christmas Grinch does have its affectionate place in holiday cartoons, but doesn’t fit House District 76.
