Harold “Lee” Snow

It is with great sadness to share the passing of our beloved family member and friend, Harold “Lee” Snow.  Lee was the youngest child of Harold and Violet Snow, born October 18, 1932 and he died peacefully on September 10, 2025 at the Southwestern Montana Veterans Home in Butte.  

Lee was the younger brother to Doris as they were raised on the ACM Ranches where their father Harold managed.  Lee grew up in the Anaconda area fishing, hunting and doing all things outdoors with his father, uncles and Tarkalson cousins.  He had a passion for mechanics & restoration of cars (which he passed down to his son Mark), guns and fixing things with his hands.  He attended school in Anaconda and upon graduation worked on the Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railroad.  

During his school years, he would walk his sweetheart Margaret back and forth to school and married her after graduation.   They welcomed their only child Mark in 1958.  

In 1952, Lee was drafted to serve in the Korean War under the US Army.  He served during the final year of the war and returned to the states as a reserve.  Upon returning from Korea, Lee continued his profession of engineering at the local railroad for the next 30 + years.   

During this time, he spent quality time with his son Mark restoring cars, his sister Doris and her daughter Kathleen, hunting with family and being a friendly community member.   There wasn’t a task that Lee could not complete as he loved fixing things.   

Lee is preceded in death by his parents in the late 90’s, sister Doris & niece Kathleen, his wife Margaret in 2016 and his beloved son Mark who recently passed away in July.  Family believes that Lee died of a broken heart with Mark’s passing as it was only four days after he laid Mark to rest when Lee took his last breath.  He had been surrounded by family the previous weeks before his passing including his grandson Cory & wife Jackalynn Snow, and their two sons Desmond and Liam.  Lee has been laid to rest alongside his wife Margaret.
