Jean Marie Harding (Monaco)
With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our loving mother, Jean Marie Harding (Monaco) on November 9th, 2023. Jean was born on April 13, 1961, to Guy and Dotsie Monaco.
Jean was known by so many people, for so many different reasons. Some knew her as Meanie Jeanie, some knew her as Jeano, some even knew her as Lt. Harding. She touched so many hearts and changed so many lives in the time she spent with us on this Earth. The ones that knew her the best, know her as a daughter, sister, mema, mom, and lady.
Of all the amazing attributes Jean had, being a mother and wife were on the very top of the list. Jean was married for 41 years to her best friend, Dean E. Harding, and lived in Philipsburg, MT until the time of her passing last week. Together they raised three boys, Rodney, Scott, and Thomas Harding. Jean also absolutely adored all three of her grandchildren, Erica, Brooks, and Laykli.
Jean faithfully dedicated 30 years to the State of Montana at the Women’s Prison and with the Granite County Sheriff’s Department. Jean loved her job, the people she worked with, and the people she supervised. She made many lifelong friends, and after retirement, took to her new hobbies of traveling, spoiling her grandchildren and quilting with great enthusiasm. Jean was called away from us to Heaven too soon, and we will all miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Guy T. Monaco.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Harding; her children, Rodney (Shelly) Harding, Scott (Brianna) Harding, Thomas (Kira) Harding; her grandchildren, Erica, Brooks, and Laykli Harding; her mother, Dotsie Monaco; her siblings, Barbara Monaco, John Monaco, Laurie Robbins, Dotsie Rose Monaco, Cindy Hatcher, and Joan Strizich; and sister-in-law, Vicki Harding.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 16th at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Oak St., Anaconda, MT 59711. A reception will be held at the American Legion Post 21, 220 Cedar St. in Anaconda. Jean will be laid to rest in Spring of 2024 at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Jean are suggested to her family for luncheon expenses. You may contact Dotsie Rose (Jean’s sister) or the funeral home for more information. Checks may be made out to the family but mailed to the funeral home at 107 Oak St., Anaconda, MT 59711.
