John enjoyed many hobbies and sports growing up. He started making lifelong friends in kindergarten. He loved time spent reminiscing with Timmy, Danny and Henry, to name a few, laughing about all the funny things they did growing up. He was proud of his athletic accomplishments throughout school. He was an Oakland A’s and a Raiders fan, and he loved music.

John had a special place in his heart for dogs and the homeless.

John is survived by 2 sisters, Debbie Detonancour and Mary (Mark) Wachsman, his 4 sons, Dale (Angela) Malee, Brian (Justin) Malee, Jared (Padma) Markland and Raymond (Ann Marie) Markland; his grandchildren, Ella, Ryan, Andrew, Cayden, Grayson, JJ and Sibeal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Eleanor; grandparents, Albert and Margaret Jensen; brother-in-law, Boyd Detonancour; and cousin, Sandy Peterson.

In accordance with John’s wishes there will be no services, he has been cremated and his ashes spread at a later date.
