John Turtle Nov. 21, 1957 – Feb. 8, 2024

John ‘Jack’ Turtle passed from this world peacefully in his sleep on February 8, 2024. He was born to Joe and Helen (Palakovich) Turtle on November 21, 1957. He attended St. Peter’s grade school, Anaconda Central and graduated from Anaconda High School.
He participated in competitive shooting and achieved the designation of sharpshooter. Upon graduation, he worked in the trades as a boilermaker’s assistant and worked in Montana, Georgia and South Dakota.
He traveled all over the United States and Mexico before settling back in Anaconda.
He worked at Hearthstone and was the best friend to all who lived there. He was on call at all hours and was always there for every resident. He also worked at Town Pump for several years. He had a strong work ethic and always showed up for work, even riding his bike in the dead of winter.
He loved to bowl, pitch horseshoes, play pool, camp and fish.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Diana Turtle and John and Helen Palakovich, his parents, Joe and Helen Turtle, his brothers Pat and Paul and his brother-in-law, Mark Laslovich.
He is survived by his sisters Mary Ann (Mike) Rapp, Helen (George) Kovacich, Peg Laslovich and his brother Joe (Vicki) Turtle, sister-in-law, Sharon Turtle, aunts and uncles, Frank and Ann Palakovich, John Palakovich, Margaret Bossard and Dorothy and Tom Lankeit. He is also survived by many, many cousins, nieces and nephews. If you were related to or knew Jack, know that you were in his prayers every day.
