Larry Loehr

Larry Loehr took his final checkered flag on April 27, in his race called life. Another Hot Rod icon, called up to build the good Lord a new hot rod. Larry drove it like he stole it, all the way home. Now he is doing burnouts in the sky and he is reunited with the rest of his family.

He was a self-employed entrepreneur. He owned Jay’s Collision in Oxford, Michigan then LT’s Rods and Customs in Anaconda, Montana.  He helped found Lost Creek Dragway in Anaconda, and it’s still alive 41 years later. He built show stoppers and magazine cover cars,  thousands of cars. He raced circle track and was still drag racing at 80 years old.

Born December 29, 1940 to Charles and Thelma Loehr of Lake Orion, Michigan. Proceeded in death by his parents and siblings, Francis,  Lynwood and Carolyn.  Larry passed peacefully with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Janet V Loehr.

Children, Sheri, husband, Bruce, Amy and Jamie,  wife Joann.

Five grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda, Sarah, Lawrence, and Angel. 

Five great grandchildren, Damien, Videl, Azalea at Aadrik and Evelyn.

Step children Chuck, Bobby and Chrissy. 

There will be Memorial Hot Rod Cruises organized in each of these states …Michigan, Montana and Arizona, to celebrate his life.
