Lynda Rettig of Philipsburg, Montana passed away at home on June 14, 2025 at the age of 84. Lynda was born to John & Alice Hetherington of Anaconda in 1940. She moved to Dillon to attend college where she met her husband, Kim Rettig. Their family home was in Thousand Oaks, CA until retirement brought them back to Montana.
Lynda lived a life woven with adventure, creativity, and deep love. Her vast travels took her across continents and cultures; India, Africa, Europe, China, Russia, Peru, Australia and New Zealand. Each experience enriched her understanding and deepened her appreciation for the world’s diverse beauty.
Lynda was a realtor in California for many years. She was artistic and loved transforming ordinary materials into meaningful art, to reflect her gentle and imaginative heart. Her laughter, wisdom and insatiable curiosity shaped the lives of family and friends alike.
Lynda was preceded in death by her husband Kim who passed in 2005. She is survived by two sisters, Nancy Wilson and Clarice Hetherington, her three sons, Keith (Kevin), Scott (Susie), Neil (Janine); grandchildren Tyler (Lindsay) and Brooke (Jason) and two great granddaughters, Reese and Jolene. A private family memorial will take place in the future.
Those who knew Lynda will carry her spirit forward as a reminder to live fully, seek adventure and create beauty in every moment.
