Margaret Ann “Peggy” Durand

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Durand, born on January 4th, 1944, in Anaconda, MT, passed away on January 22nd, 2023, at the age of 79.  A graduate of Granite High School in Philipsburg, MT, Peggy grew up in the “Flint Creek Valley” with her parents (Forrest “Buster” and Clara Ann Merrifield (Metcalf)) and sister Jamie on ‘the ranch’ near Porter’s Corner.

Peggy married her late husband, LeRoy (d. April 19, 2021), on June 2nd, 1965, and raised their three sons in Philipsburg. 

Peggy worked in the Title Insurance industry throughout her career in Montana, Washington, and Nevada, before retiring and returning with LeRoy to Montana (Anaconda) in 2005.

Peggy is survived by her sons Robert “Bob” of Arizona; Don (Toni) of Colorado; and Mike (Kim) of Washington; along with her sister Jamie (Hanson) of Montana and her grandchildren Nikola and Anika (Don).

Peggy’s and LeRoy’s ashes will be spread together in the Philipsburg / Flint Creek Valley.
