Mary Ann Kindle

Mary Ann Kindle, born April 17,1948, in Butte, Montana passed away on May 29, 2025, in Helena, Montana.

Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of Robert and Katherine Schofield. She grew up in Anaconda, Montana and was the oldest of the three sisters, Rosemarie Hull and Judeykay Schofield. She graduated from High School in 1966 and then received her Bachelor’s degree at Montana State University.  She began her teaching career in the small town of Logan where she taught multiple grades.  She then went back to school at the University of Montana and obtained her certificate in teaching special education.  She taught special education at Hawthorne and Broadwater School.  She loved teaching and went above and beyond helping kids in and out of school. During her college years she worked in Glacier National Park at St Mary’s.  She was blessed to be surrounded by Gods country and loved to hike.

In 1969, she married Jim Kindle and moved to Helena, Montana.  They were blessed with two children, Rob Kindle and Michelle Kindle Marsh.  She was very proud of both her children and loved to tell stories about them.  She divorced in 1994 and moved back to Anaconda although they remained friends throughout the years.

Anaconda became her tight knit community where she loved her close neighbors and friends.  She was a member of the Catholic church and Senior Center.

Mary Ann had a love for gardening, she loved her flowers whether they were inside or out.  She had a natural green thumb.  She was also very artistic and loved to do ceramics.  She even sold her work for a few years at a local shop in Helena.  In Anaconda, she became an avid knitter.  She loved to crochet and knit and gift blankets to family, friends, Veterans and those at the Senior Center.

In 2022, Mary Ann moved to assisted living where she adapted well and became part of the little community.  She created multiple friendships and enjoyed spending time with them all.  She would share stories, play cards, puzzles, and attend Bible Study.  She also started a kitting and crochet class where she was able to teach others.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home, 107 Oak St., Anaconda, MT 59711.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, off of 5th St. in Anaconda.

Memorials in honor of Mary Ann are suggested to Pintler Pets Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1204 Anaconda, MT 59711.

Mary Ann’s kind heart, love and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her mother and father, Katherine and Robert Schofield, sister Rosemarie Hull and son Rob Kindle.  Survived by her sister Judeykay Schofield, daughter Michelle Kindle Marsh and her husband Scott, children Kyler, Dakota (Abby) and Jacob and one great grandchild Wrenley Jo.
