Ray Capp

 

Ray Capp passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2026, at the age of 99. 

 

Ray was born in Whitehall, Montana, on October 8, 1926, to John and Clara Capp. He was the 11th of 12 children. 

 

Ray married Patty Moran on June 27, 1953. They shared 65 wonderful years together until her passing on May 12, 2019. 

 

At the age of 17, Ray joined the Navy and served during World War II. After returning to Whitehall, he held a variety of jobs before becoming the local State Farm Insurance agent in Anaconda, a career he enjoyed for 28 years. Ray was also active in Rotary and the Knights of Columbus, enjoying helping make his community a better place. 

 

In retirement, Ray spent more time golfing, putzing around the cabin at Georgetown Lake, fishing and doing what he enjoyed most; spending time with his grandchildren. 

 

Ray is survived by his sons, Rich (Pam) and Don (Donna); his grandchildren, April (Zach) Fennelly, Alicia (Cody) Tocher, Michael (Juliana) Capp, Kevin (Carolina) Capp, and Katie Capp; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Adeline, Cooper, Ezekiel, Jaxson, Stephen, Sophia, and Nicolás. 

 

Ray was preceded in death by daughter Mildred; his parents, John and Clara (Delmoe) Capp; his beloved wife, Patty; and his brothers and sisters, Jim (Hazel) Capp, Angela (Ted) Crossman, Margaret (Tom) Fellows, Louise (Dan) Martin, Joanne Merrill, Anne (Gale) Zimmerman, John (Lena) Capp, Peter (Marion) Capp, Vincent (Laura) Capp, George (Alice) Capp, and Dorothy (Edward) Brooke. 

 

Ray lived a long, full life marked by family, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, May 22, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda, MT.
