Rhonda Elizabeth “Roni” Mann
March 1, 1969 – July 8, 2025
Rhonda Elizabeth Mann, lovingly known as Roni, passed away in the early morning hours of July 8, 2025, at Community Hospital of Anaconda in Anaconda, Montana.
Roni was born on March 1,1969 in Driggs, Idaho, to parents Connie Cropsey and Eugene Mann. She grew up in Casper, Wyoming, and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1986. In her early adult years, she relocated to Montana, a place that would become her lifelong home.
She went on to attend Montana Tech’s School of Nursing, earning her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) while raising six children as a single mother—an incredible accomplishment that reflected her strength and resilience.
Throughout her nursing career, Roni cared for countless patients with compassion and dedication, particularly in her years as a home health nurse. Of all her roles, she especially cherished her time working at Anaconda Pediatrics, a position that brought her great joy and connection.
Roni loved the outdoors—she found peace in fishing, fresh air, and the rhythm of the natural world. She was a gifted seamstress and crochet artist, known for her intricate and thoughtful work. She took deep pride in living the “old ways,” teaching her children traditional skills like gardening, canning, preservation, and herbal medicine—gifts that continue to live on in the next generation.
She is survived by her parents, Connie Cropsey and Eugene Mann; her siblings, Irene Mann, Melody Phillips, Leonard Mann, and William Mann; her children, Belinda (Travis) Martin, Cassandra Mann, Candace Dorscher, Jessica Dorscher, and Nicole (Tony) Salazar; and her bonus daughters, Brandi Bailey and Jackie Smith. She was a proud grandmother to Logan, Ian, Chad, Derek, Ryder, David, Amelia, Lucas, Joel, Karter, Talliana, Theodore, Thomas, and Astrid. She is also survived by her beloved Catahoula Leopard Dog, Cricket, who brought her immense comfort and companionship.
Roni is preceded in death by her son, Robert Mann, and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Though she lived a life of quiet independence, Roni’s legacy lives on through the knowledge she shared, the care she provided, and the lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held at Anaconda First Presbyterian Church on September 6th, 2025 at 11 am. Donations may also be made to local Deer-Lodge County 4-H programs in honor of Roni’s love for traditional living and the values of hands-on learning she held dear.
