Robert Louis Nelson “Bobby”
Robert “Bobby” Passed away November 14, 2024. Bobby was born October 10, 1946 in Pekin, Illinois to Delmar and Analee Nelson. The family later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where He grew up.
Bobby touched the lives of all who knew him. His Compassionate heart showed through his beautiful blue eyes and his smile could brighten anyone’s day.
He enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1964. He was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky US Army Training Center, Armor. Bobby became part of the Army Reservist and led his squad 387th ENGR Co (Pl Const. Spt). Sergeant Nelson was named the outstanding member of the US Army Reserve of the year for New Mexico-West Texas area in 1969.
After his service to his country, he went on to proudly work for Del’s Carpet Sales and Service helping his dad install carpet. They made a great team. Bobby then met and Married April Tucker. He became a happy step in Father to Brett and they had two beautiful daughters Nicole “Niki” and Jennifer “Jenny”. Bobby was a proud Grandpa of 3 and loved talking with them.
Bob later moved in to help care for his Mom after his Dad passed. They took care of each other. Bobby always took care of others he had the most genuine heart and loved the lord with all his heart.
Bobby relocated to Montana in 2009. Bob shared a close bond with his sister Kim and her children. He loved family dinners, celebrating birthdays, and holidays with his family. He loved to garden and was a talented Artist. He loved making his family leather purses or wallets with beautiful stamping and carved designs. He loved to go for long drives with his mom enjoying the beauty and eating ice cream. Most of all he enjoyed his family and having them close. He found happiness in his family and friends. He was always there for us. He will be missed very much but know he is now free from pain and walking with Jesus. Fly like an eagle Bobby, you are free.
He is preceded in death by his Dad Delmer Nelson, Sister Cheryl Moore, Brother Greg Nelson.
Bob is survived by his Mother Analee Nelson, Brother Gary Nelson, Sister Kim Archuleta, Son Brett Tucker, Daughters Niki Nelson Vachkov (Ivan Vachkov) and Jenny Nelson, grandchildren Noelle, Troy, Tyler. Many Nieces and Nephews, Great-Nieces and Nephews.
A celebration of life will be held November 23rd, 2024 at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home at 11:00am.
