The Smelter City is set to get spooky for Halloween week

Published by admin on Fri, 10/24/2025 - 14:00

Pumpkin painting and bobbing (or is that fishing?) for apples were among the family-friendly festivities at The Arcade Lounge's Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 18. And there's more in store for the Smelter City as Halloween approaches. Leader photos: Kasey Edge-Faur

As October comes to a close, the Smelter City has a full schedule of events for Halloween week that are sure to get you in the "spirit" of the season.

Starting with tonight – Friday, Oct. 24, there is a Halloween Dance at Lincoln Gym at 5-6:30 p.m. for Pre-K to second graders and 7-8:30 p.m. for third to fifth graders. Parents must accompany the elementary aged kiddos. Admission is $5 per student.

Then on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., Thairapy Hair Salon, 301 E. Park Ave., will host a Halloween Ball. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in costume. Kids are welcome. On Monday, Oct. 27, the Hearst Free Library is hosting pumpkin painting party at 6:30 p.m. And on Wednesday, Oct. 29, the 7 Gables at Georgetown Lake is hosting a trunk or treat starting at 4 p.m.

As to the festivities on Halloween itself, the Lincoln Primary and Fred Moodry Intermediate School Halloween parades to and from Anaconda Junior/Senior High School are the main morning attractions, with FMIS starting at 10:40 a.m. and Lincoln at 10:45 a.m.

New Horizons Assisted Living is hosting a Trunk or Treat at 3-5 p.m. at 402 Christine Court.

Gateway Christian Fellowship is hosting a Children’s Block Party outside the church at 800 E. Fourth St. from 3-6 p.m.

And as always, trick-or-treating of the downtown businesses will start after school gets out.

Then that night, HOSA and Key Club will be hosting a haunted Halloween night at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gym. The cost is $8 per person, attending students must be in third grade or older and students under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Also, Gunslinger Gulch is hosting a Spooky Halloween Night complete with “eerie fun, spooky movies, and ghostly tales.”

And for the adult ghosts and goblins out there, Carmel’s Sports Bar and Grill is hosting a Spooky Boo Bash starting at 8 p.m. There will be a costume contest and a raffle. The Revolver is hosting a Halloween Night party starting at 8 p.m. with a costume contest at 10 p.m. Awards will be given out to best “OG, Couple and Freakshow” costume. And Misfits Parlor is hosting a Halloween party on at 9 p.m., which will feature a costume contest and music.
