Suzanne Patricia (Hansen) Holden

Published by admin on Fri, 10/13/2023 - 10:40

Suzanne (“Suzy or Sue”) passed away unexpectedly on September 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Sue was born in Butte April 12, 1962.  She was raised in Anaconda, grew up in Goosetown, and attended Bryan School until the family moved to the west end.  Sue graduated from AHS in 1980.  She had a beautiful voice and sang at her graduation accompanied on the piano by her mom, Gale.  Following high school, Sue attained her first college degree from MT Tech. After that she attended college in Portland, Oregon and then went on to earn her teaching degree from Eastern Montana College in Billings.  Sue then moved to Las Vegas and began her 30-year teaching career and ultimately earned her masters degree at UNLV.  As well as being an excellent vocalist, she was a very talented artist and her creations were a reflection of the beauty she saw in the world and her deep appreciation for its wonders.  Suzy was a lot of fun demonstrated by her quirky sense of humor and hilarious gag gifts.

Family was the most important thing to Sue.  Suzanne married John Holden on May 30, 1992, and they were blessed with two remarkable children, Arden and Garrett.  Her nieces and nephews were the apples of her eye.  She always had fun on her trips with her Mom and her niece, Roni.  After an impressive teaching career, Sue was able to retire in 2020.  She loved coming to Montana in the Summer and at Christmas time.

Sue was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Vera Henderson, and her mother, Gale Hansen.  She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Arden; son, Garrett; father, Ron (Cindy); brothers, Bill (Loretta), Dave (Melissa), and Brian (Mira); aunt, Carole (Henderson) Hull; parents-in-law, John (Catherine); brothers-in-law, James (Lynda) and Patrick (Cyndee); several nieces, nephew, and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life on October 16th @ 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 501 Cedar, Anaconda.
