From right to left: The Regier Family Saga
Dear Editor:
Several days ago, Keith Regier wrote a letter to the editor attacking me. This followed another letter by Matt Regier a few weeks ago. You are probably wondering why two people from Kalispell are writing letters to the editor about me.
It’s simple. Rita Schreiber, the mother-in-law of my Republican-In-Name-Only (RINO) opponent “Tax-Hike” Trish Schreiber gave Matt Regier’s political action committee $60,000. We can all look forward to several months of Keith and Matt Regier acting as the mouth piece for California Liberal “Tax-Hike” Trish and otherwise doing what the Schreiber’s demand.
What’s really sad is how the Regiers have changed so much. The Regier family used to vote for lower taxes and less government spending. Not now. Today, the Regier family makes up the largest group of liberals in the Republican Party.
Nobody has done more to push higher taxes and increased government spending than the Regiers. Matt “Raise your Taxes” Regier fought property tax relief legislation every step of the way during the 2025 session and his father, Keith, has now filed a lawsuit to reverse the property tax cuts you received. The Regiers also pushed to build a massive $160 million legislative office in Helena to be used four months every two years. Matt voted to increase new state spending by $168 million while, hypocritically claiming the state budget was too high.
It’s no surprise that the Regiers are supporting California Liberal “Tax-Hike” Trish Schreiber’s run for the legislature. She has publicly supported raising property taxes on regular families and her family is funding the Frontier Institute which is pushing to enact a 7% sales tax.
It's so disappointing. The Regiers are willing to sell out Montanans to please a wealthy California woman. The Regier’s and “Tax-Hike” Trish are not on your side.
