GOOSETOWN 2023

Top to bottom: Softball fields in the Smelter City were busy all weekend for the 2023 Goosetown Softball Tournament, which saw about 110 teams participate in the weekend's action. Cori Lloyd steps up to the plate (actually second base) for the women's home run derby, which she won, with tournament organizer presenting her with the trophy.  Mason Kim goes yard at the men's home run derby, which he won, and received his trophy from Hill.  There was plenty of swinging for the fences during the tournament itself, with both men and women looking to hit one out for their team.  There were a few bloopers as well, and not of the pop-fly kind, with a hard slide, a contested catch (the catch was indeed made) and a near-beaning on the basepaths at the weekend's action.
