John Shegina December 4, 1944 – November 29, 2023

John was born in Anaconda to William and Mary Alice Shegina. He graduated from Anaconda High School with the Class of 1963. 

John earned his B.A. in Education from Eastern Montana College. His Masters in Vocational Rehab from Northern Colorado University. He moved to Long Beach, California working as a V.A. and Disability Counselor/Supervisor in Southern California and lobbied for ADA Rights in Sacramento. An avid golfer, bicyclist and trail hiker and he loved L.A.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Evan and Merritt. His sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Dan Solan and family. His brother Bill. Special friends Bob (Sprocket) Smith, Fred Jense, Ted Hildebrant. Along with numerous relatives, classmates, and friends. 

As per his wishes, his ashes will be spread overlooking the Pacific at his favorite trail in Palos Verdes.
