Henry Paumie Lussy

Henry Paumie Lussy, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 8, 1944, to Henry Francis Lussy and Dorothy Helen Viox, Henry spent most of his life in Anaconda, Montana, where he was deeply rooted in the community.

A decorated Sharpshooter and First Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves, Henry served his country with honor from 1966 to 1984. His adventurous spirit led him to Alaska, where he worked at the Federal Building-U.S. Courthouse in Anchorage and later served as an officer in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

A proud business owner, Henry worked as a building contractor for his company, Remod Inc., where he was a skilled craftsman, known for his innovative and meticulous work as a master finish carpenter. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and sailing. He once sailed the Inside Passage of the Gulf of Alaska, completing a remarkable 1200-nautical-mile journey from Seward, Alaska, to Tacoma, Washington, as Captain of a 1974 FORMOSA 41 Ketch sailboat.

Henry’s legacy is marked by his unwavering resilience, compassion, and love for his family. He raised three children, Launa Lynn Roque, Henry William Lussy, and Jenahlee Murie Boruff, while working in various parts of Alaska and Montana. He was a devoted father, and a cherished grandfather to Haley Roberts, Jacquelyn Roque, Joseph Roque, Jenavieve Boruff, Vivienne Boruff, and Kennah Roberts.

Henry will be remembered for his jovial laugh, his kind heart, and his enduring spirit; his memory will be cherished forever.

Henry is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, brothers Jerry (Tammy) Lussy, and Larry (Linda) Lussy, nieces and nephews Marcus Lussy, and Jana & JD Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on September 14, 2024, at the Washoe Theater in Anaconda. Henry will be laid to rest in a family plot at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
