David B. McNay
David B. McNay, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on August 11 in Helena, Montana.
David was born on December 22, 1933 in Anaconda, Montana, and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1951. He worked as a machinist for the Anaconda smelter for 30 years, then worked for Montana Power for 15 years until he retired in 1998.
David married Darlene Bock, the love of his life, on August 28, 1955. Their daughter Katrina was born in 1959, followed by their son Loren in 1962.
David loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time at their log cabin at Georgetown Lake. He was a kind, generous, and caring man who would always lend a hand if it was needed. David always enjoyed time with his family and friends and was known to be the life of the party. He and Darlene moved from Colstrip to Helena in 2019 to be closer to the family and friends he enjoyed spending time with.
David was preceded in death by his father Patrick, mother Mildred, brother Thomas, sister Vera McNay, and his daughter Katrina Sinnott.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, son Loren (Lori), son-in-law Scott Sinnott, grandchildren Aaron (Deborah) McNay, Alexis McNay, Kamaria Sinnott, Kasandra Ward, and his great grandchildren Oliver Dorgan, William Ward, Aurora and Iria McNay, his sister-in-law Carol Bock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
David will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him and will be forever loved for being the wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that he was.
David’s funeral liturgy will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 535 N. Ewing in Helena on September 20 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, people can donate to the charity of their choice. Please visit www.aswfuneralhome.com to offer a condolence to the family.
